Dedicated to the memory of US President John F. Kennedy, this remarkable park covers 252 hectares and contains 4,500 types of trees and shrubs, planted in botanical sequence.
Dunganstown, 6 km south of the nearby town of New Ross, is the ancestral home of the Kennedy family, whose great-grandfather Patrick Kennedy emigrated to America from there. In June of ‘63, the final year of his presidency, President Kennedy visited New Ross, and there is much photography and memorabilia devoted to that historic visit available.
When in County Wexford, this park would be an ideal way to spend a relaxing and stimulating morning or afternoon enjoying the pleasures of the outdoors. Its Visitors Centre houses interesting exhibitions and an audio-visual show.
