This is just a short note to let you know how our much we enjoyed our golf/touring trip to Ireland.
Our Driver - Johnnie Whelan - he was an absolute delight from start to finish. Excellent driver, great tour guide and overall fun to be around. We all learned our Irish history and saw all the things off the beaten path. We especially enjoyed our outings to Newgrange, Dingle Peninsula, Ring of Beara and the Cliffs of Moher. Also Black Head and Burren were exceptional.
Golf - Our favorites courses were Ballybunion - “Old Course” and Tralee. Our caddies at both of these courses were excellent. Portmarnock was really burned out from the recent hot weather and was our least favorite.
Hotels - The Westbury Hotel was “top notch” all the way. The Aghadoe Heights was fine but we would have preferred to be in town at the Killarney Park Hotel. The Vaughan Lodge did not have air conditioning and it was really hot in Lahinch that night but we fully understand that the weather was very unusual. The Oakwood Arms Hotel was very good.
Restaurants - Dublin - “Town” Steak House was our favorite in Dublin. In Killarney, “Bricin” was excellent and the “Kileen House” was the best meal of our trip. In Lahinch, you should add the “Corner Stone” to your list - it was great.
Overall, our “Thanks” to you and your staff for a wonderful vacation. This is the 3rd time we have used Jerry Quinlan’s - Celtic Golf and we have never been disappointed.”
All the Best,
Bill & Pat Tvenstrup and Jim & Eileen Hardigan
